Standing start procedure

The standing start procedure (Launch Control) is a function that allows the vehicle to accelerate at maximum speed when the tyre-to-ground grip is optimal.
Note: the Launch Control function is only available if the traction battery and engine have reached their operating temperatures.
To enable the best performance, we recommend using the function when the battery is mostly charged.
Tip
Heavy use of the system will reduce the service life of the mechanical components. For further information, please contact an approved dealer.
Activating the system
The system is activated as follows:
  • with the engine running and the vehicle stationary, engage D position;
  • Sport mode is activated DRIVE MODE;
  • press the brake pedal firmly using your left foot;
  • keeping your foot on the brake pedal, press the Overtake (OV) button on the steering wheel 1 until the "Launch Control ready Full throttle" message is displayed on the instrument panel;
  • release button 1;
  • within 60 seconds, keeping your left foot pressing the brake pedal, press the accelerator down fully beyond the point of resistance using your right foot until the "Launch Control Release brake" message is displayed on the instrument panel;
  • within four seconds, release the brake pedal to enable sporty starting of the vehicle accompanied by a special animation on the instrument panel.
WARNING
Do not use this function on slippery or wet roads.
Risk of loss of control of the vehicle.
Conditions for non-activation of the system
Certain conditions will prevent activation of the system:
  • engaging R or N position;
  • when Save or Normal mode is activated, the "Launch Control unavailable in this DRIVE MODE" message is displayed on the instrument panel DRIVE MODE;
  • the traction battery charge level is too low;
  • the traction battery temperature is too low or too high;
  • the engine temperature is too low or too high;
  • failure of a vehicle system (ESC, etc.).
Note: if the function is inhibited by one of these conditions, the "Launch Control unavailable" message is displayed on the instrument panel.
Tip
Using this function significantly accelerates tyre wear .
WARNING
Because of the acceleration gained, this function should only be used if traffic conditions permit, and in compliance with the local driving regulations.
Please ensure all the conditions are met before each use.
Risk of accident or serious injury.
